Making a video

Things have been so crazy around me the past few weeks I didn’t realize how close we are to the end of another year.   This year I have labeled 2015 as “The Year of the House” and have been taking pictures during the entire process.  I sat down for the first time this year and actually looked at the pictures from start to finish — goodness a time lapse shows how much work was done to turn this blank canvas of land into a home!!   I cannot wait to share the video with you over the next few weeks, it may take a while to get the video together as I realized today I have taken way too many pictures.  Even though I took a lot of pictures, it seems that I must have forgotten to take pictures close to the end of the process and I haven’t taken any pictures now that the house is finished!  I am sure my husband will laugh at me when I tell him we need to empty the house out to take pictures of our house before it  is furnished!  Robert, I am just joking…. but seriously, I do need to take pictures of the house decorated and all set up.

Beginning this video in the month of Thanksgiving has brought to life the things I am thankful for.   I am thankful for so much, I simply don’t know where to start.   I am thankful I serve a God who looks after His own to begin with but after this I am at a lost of words.   I am so much more than thankful and grateful for what life has handed me both good and bad!  I have come to realize without the bad or sad days then there would be nothing to look forward to.

Tonight I am thankful for my husband who has taken great care of me this weekend as I have struggled with my foot injury.  He has gone above and beyond to make sure I have stayed off of my foot and had everything I need to be comfortable.  I have felt bad as I watched him cook and clean plus take care of me.  I have to say I am one lucky girl to have a husband who is so devoted to me!  I love you, Robert Sharpe!!   I am thankful that God brought you into my life… I don’t know what I would do without you.

By the way I will be updating my blog name at the beginning of the new year.   Keep your eyes out for a new year of and the journey Robert and I have next.

Homeless No More!

Finally!  The day has come, Robert and I are homeless no more!  We have fully moved into our house. The past two weeks have been so busy I have not been able to write.  Once we were given the go ahead to move into the house we have been busy nonstop  moving, unpacking and decorating.  It seems surreal to think just a month ago I was counting down the days until we  would be able to move into the blessing given to us by God and here we are living in it.  Robert and I have talked several times the past few weeks about our dream coming to life – it is hard to believe and we catch ourselves checking to see if it is real.

Real, this is real and such a blessing from God!  This afternoon I was home by myself and all I could do was marvel at the miracle around me.  This morning in Sunday School we talked about the miracles Jesus performed during his life and ministry here on earth.  In our discussion we were asked how we talk to people about what God does for us and how He has opened arms for those who come to Him.  There was much talk about telling people that God already knows all they have done and that He died so everyone would have an opportunity to come to Him.   I started thinking at that moment what are ways I can share with those around us and to those we may meet daily in situations in which we were talking.   I finally came to the conclusion that everyone must tell their story, just like the Bible tells God’s story — so must we tell our story!

This blog has been my way of telling our story.  It has been a way to reach the world and let everyone know that there is a God who loves us and cares for us. Our story is one of hope and promise.  While we may be homeowners now and no longer homeless, yes mom I will be changing the title of my blog in the next few days, we still have a story to tell and share with those we encounter.  Of course, we have more to tell and share as we go through our life — and I cannot wait to share with you these stories.  Please stay tuned for our adventures, I am going to do my best to actually write once a week to keep you all up to date!
